The most recent round of TV PSAs was created for our Fight Arthritis Pain campaign. One in five adults in the United States (46 million people) has arthritis and an estimated 67 million people will be affected by 2030. This PSA campaign features fun ways that people can integrate movement into their lives. The PSAs instill a sense of hope for those who have this disease by communicating that "moving is the best medicine."

"World Famous" KROQ Rocks for Ad Council

In the first half of 2010, "World Famous" KROQ-FM has been especially supportive of the nonprofit and government affiliates attached to the Ad Council's PSA campaigns. KROQ is one of seven stations in the cluster at CBS Radio, Los Angeles.

So far this year, KROQ's live "Open Line" public affairs program has interviewed key executives from the Arthritis Foundation, Pacific Region; Autism Speaks, Los Angeles Chapter and from the U.S. Forest Service for Wildfire Prevention. Accepting well-earned Certificates of Appreciation are, at left, Host Scott Mason and Producer Massimo Bordonaro. Congratulations and rock on!

    New GEDŽ Achievement Campaign

More than 35.7 million adults ages 18-64 do not have a high school diploma. Data shows that students who drop out of high school tend to earn less, perform less well in society, and have a lower quality of life. Many of these adults lacking a high school diploma must work multiple jobs just to support their family. Without a GEDŽ Diploma, they get the lowest paid and the least stable jobs, and while they know they need to get their GED Diploma, what they really need are simple directions on how to get started.

This campaign demonstrates that "You can take the first step" towards getting your GED Diploma, and directs viewers to a toll-free number and website where they can find free referrals to local GED programs and information on the GED Diploma process. The PSAs illustrate that getting a GED Diploma provides people with access to more possibilities in life - further education, better positions and more self confidence.
